Lenten Book Discussion

St. Mark’s invites the congregation and community to a discussion of Peter Enns’ book, How the Bible Actually Works every Friday during Lent at the Rectory, 226 E. 2nd St., starting March 7. Participants are invited to gather at 4:30 p.m. for snacks, followed by the discussion at 5 p.m.

Peter Enns is a professor of biblical studies at Eastern University in Pennsylvania and hosts the podcast The Bible for Normal People. Our series will end April 11, just before Palm Sunday.

During Lent, we will read from Enns' book and ponder what it means to read the Bible as a book of wisdom rather than an instruction manual, Two or three chapters will be discussed each week.
